R-50 Systems understood the potential for a drastic reduction in long-term energy costs by improving the thermal performance of the roof/wall building envelope. Beyond simply reducing energy loss, the lightweight low-profile panel also creates additional short-term savings in re-roofing, total replacement, structural retrofitting, construction and shipping costs.
Developing a product that was a 99% recyclable helped to inject sustainability while reducing the environmental footprint and landfill space. Additionally, the water-resistant panel is perfect for insulation needs under green, vegetative roofs.
With both residential and commercial/industrial applications, this U.S.-fabricated panel can be scaled to suit R-value requirements and will fit low slope roof applications without sacrificing higher R-value insulation needs or requirements.
Conventional insulation options requires up to 15” of height to reach the R-50 value, making it impractical and costly when retrofitting buildings to accommodate that extra height.
The R-50 Systems products meet or exceed those extremely high R-value requirements which comply with code and energy-savings requirements — all with a 1.5” or less thickness.
R-50 Systems employs a High-Density Composite Vacuum Insulated Panel (VIP). The high-performance fiberglass core is vacuumed sealed in a plastic reinforced polyester barrier, offering fire protection and water resistance.
The Vacuum Insulated Panel is set between a pair of fire-rated boards, making it moisture and mold resistant as well as fire proof — something that conventional insulation does not offer.
And unlike the more fragile VIPs, our panels have high impact capabilities that are compressively strong, capable of accommodating heavy foot traffic and resistance to hail damage. It also meets wind uplift 1-120 (ANSI/FM 4474).
Additionally, according to the GSA Green Proving Ground, the projected savings on electricity and natural gas are 8% and 10% respectively.
