Sika Sarnafil announces partnership with R-50 Systems, LLC and the release of the Sarnathin-50 Roof System, an innovative high R-value roofing system for non-residential building applications. The Sarnathin-50 system utilizes Sika’s proven Sarnafil® roofing membrane in conjunction with R-50 Systems’ Rich-E-Board™, a 1.5-inch thick, vacuum-sealed insulation with a protective covering on both sides and an R-value (resistance to heat flow) of 50. The slim, lightweight design decreases costs of building modifications and structural retrofits, while creating more usable space for living and/or operations. Because Rich-E-Board can be produced to various dimensions, it can be used in most building and wall applications with little wasted material.
Roof Replacement at Camden Courthouse
R-50 completed the installation of a replacement roofing and insulation system at the Mitchell H. Cohen US Courthouse in Camden, NJ. This 180,000 SF government facility is the first commercial project to be completed using R-50 Systems’ patented 1″ thick vacuum insulated panel (VIP) system, which reduced construction costs by $200,000.
R-50 Launches a New Product
R-50 Systems, LLC launched a new-to-market, 1″ thick vacuum-sealed, patented and certified R-50 value insulation, Rich-E-Board™. Architects, contractors, government project managers, and builders can now provide mandated R values with an ultra-thin, net-zero, 99% recyclable insulation option with the potential to reduce project costs by up to $200,000.
R-50's Mission
R-50’s mission began with providing a proven solution to the dilemma of the high R-values mandated by government regulations and limitations posed by space restraints in building envelopes. This mission has expanded, and R-50’s product designers and engineers continue to create innovative, high-performance products that deliver long-term advantages.
